Philippians 2:12-1
Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. (ESV)
“Fear and trembling” refers not to service toward a harsh Master; instead, it is proper reverence and awe for the Lord and a proper fear of failing him."

Now! Discipleship Priority

Matthew 8:18-22
Now when Jesus saw a crowd around him, he gave orders to go over to the other side. And a scribe came up and said to him, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.” And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.” Another of the disciples said to him, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.” And Jesus said to him, “Follow me, and leave the dead to bury their own dead.” (ESV)
Following Jesus is not always easy or comfortable. Often it involves great cost and sacrifice, with no earthly rewards or security. Jesus did not have a place to call home. You may find that following Christ costs you popularity, friendships, leisure time, or treasured habits. While the cost of following Christ is high, the value of being Christ’s disciple is even higher. If you desire to follow Christ, you must be willing to face hardship. Would you be willing to give up your home to follow Christ?

Lift up your head and square your shoulders...God has already given you the victory. Walk by faith and not by sight because there is victory in every step.
Deuteronomy 7:22
The Lord your God will clear away these nations before you little by little. You may not make an end of them at once, lest the wild beasts grow too numerous for you. (ESV)
Psalm 37:23-24
The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way; though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the Lord upholds his hand. (ESV)

Blinded By the ”God” of This Age
Tuesday Jul 25, 2023
Tuesday Jul 25, 2023
2 Cor. 4:
In their case, the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. (ESV)
The gospel is open and revealed to everyone except those who refuse to believe. Satan is “the god of this age.” His work is to deceive, and he has blinded those who don’t believe in Christ.

Bitterness

Hebrews 12:14-15
Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord. Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many. (NLT)
Bitterness is defined as a feeling of antagonism, hostility, or resentfulness.
As a grim reminder of what can happen among believers, the writer warned that one who misses the grace of God may become like a bitter root whose infidelity to God affects others.

Choose to Rejoice

Acts:16:24-26
Having received this order, he put them into the inner prison and fastened their feet in the stocks. About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them, and suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. And immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone’s bonds were unfastened.(ESV)
No matter what circumstance you face, choose to worship, rejoice, and give glory to God. People may come against you, attack your integrity and falsely accuse you. Trust in the Almighty and confuse the enemy with singing and prayer and watch the aftermath and victory!

God Weighs your Motives

Proverbs 16:1-5
The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord. All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the spirit. Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established. The Lord has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for the day of trouble. Everyone who is arrogant in heart is an abomination to the Lord; be assured, he will not go unpunished. (ESV)
Verse 2 says that God’s sovereignty extends to judgment: “All a person’s ways seem right to him, but the Lord weighs motives.” God is the sovereign judge because he judges rightly. He judges motives, not just actions. We all think we are right. As sinful human beings, we have a tendency to deceive ourselves about our own goodness (Longman, Proverbs, 328).

Joshua 4:8
And the people of Israel did just as Joshua commanded and took up twelve stones out of the midst of the Jordan, according to the number of the tribes of the people of Israel, just as the Lord told Joshua. And they carried them over with them to the place where they lodged and laid them down there. (ESV)
In this chapter of Joshua, I rediscover that the God who has offered us promises for the future, which sustains us in the present, understands our tendency to lose touch with matters of ultimate concern in our preoccupation with the unrelenting demands of the present. Therefore, He creates for us memorials, reminders that help keep our focus on our roots. This chapter dramatically reveals the importance of remembering.

Praying But Not Belieiving

Act 12:15-1
They said to her, “You are out of your mind.” But she kept insisting that it was so, and they kept saying, “It is his angel!” But Peter continued knocking, and when they opened, they saw him and were amazed. (ESV)
Believe and have faith when you pray. Frequently, we pray to God for answers and results. When God shows up, we are too caught up in "religious service" to see that answered prayer standing at the door. Due to fear and lack of faith, we are too paralyzed to open the door and receive the answered prayer.

God Speaks in Many Times and Ways

Hebrews 1:1-3
Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days, he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. (ESV
The relationship between Christianity and Judaism became a critical issue in the early church. Hebrews 1:1–10:18 presents a series of sections showing how Christ is superior to key aspects of Judaism. The book of Hebrews carefully explains how Christ is superior to angels (who gave the Old Testament law), Moses, and high priests. The new covenant is shown to be far superior to the old. In Chapter 1, Christ is presented as God's ultimate and superior revelation. This can greatly encourage us and help us avoid losing our faith in Christ.

Welcome to the FaithFactor Podcast w/Bishop K
I am Bishop Keifer R. Bradshaw and I know that life has us on the move. This podcast is to inspire you with an uplifting message to encourage you with scripture and a devotional to uplift your day. Time is of the essence these days, that is why each episode is less than ten minutes in duration. It is my pleasure to serve you and my prayer is that God will continue to bless and keep you. For without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He awards those who earnestly seek him.
